The tote intake sub-system (a.k.a. el toro) was designed by Sevy. It was meant to grab totes and align them with the pickup sub-system. There are wheels on both sides that grip and spin to bring in the totes. The arms also articulate open with pneumatic pistons in order to grab totes with more degrees of error and release totes. The video above shows el toro in action!
This subsystem was designed and built by Sevy. Challenges included not going above robot height limit, creating arms and hooks that would always land in recycling bins, and making sure the bins fell off the hooks when raised. Arms moved using pneumatic pistons.
